This tour is designed for those who do not have a lot of time but still want to explore the most popular sights in Iceland.
In this tour we begin by visiting the historical and geological wonder of Þingvellir National Park. This is where the oldest still operating parliament in the world was established and also where the two tectonic plates (Euro-Asian and the North-American) pull apart a few centimetres every year. The park was later expanded to protect the diverse and the bautiful natural phenomena in the surrounding area, and was designated as a World Heritage Site in 2004.
We will also see the Geysir geothermal area where Strokkur geyser shoots up a column of water up to 30 metres every few minutes, which clearly shows you the power of nature. The visit continues to Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a 32 m deep canyon.
