Explore the scenic South Coast and areas of great contrast in nature. This is a great way to spend your day in Iceland. South Iceland is a lowland region of lush farmland, plummeting waterfalls, sandy coastline, glaciers and quaint towns and villages. It is also an area of historical significance.

We drive along the South coast of Iceland, as far as the southern most village in Iceland, Vík. Vík is a charming village surrounded by beautiful high bird cliffs. Along the way we stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the waterfall. We will stop at Skógafoss waterfall, with its 60 m drop. We also stop at Þorvaldseyri where you get to know the true spirit of a local Icelander, who saw opportunities after the devastating eruption of Eyjafjallajökull. We’ll make a short detour to the roots of the glacier Sólheimajökull to get you in proximity with the magnificent, mysterious and powerful glacier.

Other highlights include the impressive Reynisdrangar rock formations. If you want to hike on the glacier, reservations have to be made 1-2 days in advance.
