In this tour you will visit Iceland’s most popular and stunning sights, Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss.  We begin by visiting the historical and geological wonder of Þingvellir National Park. This is where the oldest still existing parliament in the world was established and also where the two tectonic plates (Eurasian) and the North American) pull apart a few centimeters every year.
We will also see the Geysir geothermal area where Strokkur geyser shoots up a column of water up to 30 metres every few minutes which clearly shows you the power of nature. The visit continues to Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 m deep.
Additionally we will visit Skálholt, which was one of Iceland’s two episcopal seats. The cathedral is located in a magnificent landscape and we’ll learn about the history of the place and explore the archaeological remains of the fortress and the churches/cathedrals.
We will also stop at Kerið volcanic crater that was formed by a volcanic explosion about 3000 years ago. The caldera is a natural amphitheatre and Icelandic singer Björk performed  a concert on a floating platform on the lake in the caldera.
